Do you ever wonder how God sees you? I have often wondered how God sees me, knows me or even loves me? Even though, I have been told my whole life that God loves me by Sunday School teachers, church family and my mom, I have wanted to identify and understand that promised love for myself. Here is what I have discovered about how God sees me?
The text assures me that there is nowhere that God is not. God’s Spirit surrounds me so that even in my darkest hour, I do not have to worry because God is the light of day. These opening few verses are very comforting but the text that really grabs my attention are found in verses 13-15:
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
The Psalmist writes that God knows me completely, and loves me fully. If God knows me that completely, despite my mistakes and imperfections, there is no need for me to hide or run from the presence of God. I am surrounded in God’s love. Even in my toughest moments, God’s Spirit is never hidden from me but remains faithfully within me. How does God see me? As a child “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Thanks be to God.
